Are you in Lisbon? Be it for business or entertainment, here are our favourite 9 spots to grab a drink.
The spots are not organized in any kind of way — we simply chose our 10 favorites to drink and talk and compiled them in a list.
Give them a shot and tell us if you liked them. We’re absolutely sure you can’t go wrong following our list.
If you want, download the list for your google maps here
You’re welcome, enjoy!
1. Red Frog
Based on the US Prohibition times, the Redfrog is a closed door bar near Avenida da Liberdade.
The space is fairly small, and their rules stating that no one can enter without having a place to sit makes it a calm spot to enjoy a cool night, networking and listening to old rock tunes and a bit of Chet Fakerish songs.
Our favorite bar in town. We love all the 9 listed here, but there’s no way to go around this. Each cocktail feels like if there’s a chef inventing it just for us and every drink there simply cannot be found in other place. That’s the reason why they win so many awards.
Expert’s choice: Try the Mediterrânico and tell us how that went!
Address: Rua do Salitre, 5A
Operating Hours: 6PM to 3AM
Fancy a pint of Guinness anyone?
If you’re anything like us, you’ll always be happy with a cold pint, some snacks and good company.
Some meters away from Pink Street, Hennessy’s has been a good companion throughout the years. A cool place to meet and work during lunch hours and the afternoon, the best place to drink Guinness in town and our favorite place to end the night screaming our lungs out to Sweet Caroline or some Oasis tunes.
Address: Rua Cais do Sodré, 32–38, Cais do Sodré,
Operating Hours: 11AM - 3AM
Expert’s choice: There are no doubts here. It’s Guinnes. Pint. If you order a 1/2 pint please don’t bother reading more into our suggestions.
Translated, it is The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, as Sergio Leone’s classic film.
Less than two minutes away from Pink Street, the BMV has a jazzy old school vibe around it.
It was one of the first spots in Lisbon to diversify their gin options and we’ve been fans ever since.
A great place to network and enjoy the night, while sitting in old school couches with a drink in your hand.
Address: R. do Alecrim 21
Operating Hours: 7PM to 2AM
Expert’s choice: Their gin menu is what we always order. Ask the bartender for their gin suggestion!
The place to end your nights + the best djs in town.
With the best possible name to describe a club without any name or outside sign, Incógnito has been the favorite of all the indie music lovers in Lisbon for years.
Meet us there!
Address: Rua dos Poiais de São Bento 37
Operating hours: 11PM - 4AM (open from Wednesday to Saturday)
Expert’s choice: Cold beer or a Moscatel.
The founder of the “watching the sunset on a rooftop while sipping white wine (or whatever you prefer, actually)” movement in Lisbon.
On the top floor of a parking lot, it’s perfect for some networking mixed with fine drinks, right in the center of Lisbon and close to the night summit official zones
Adress: Calçada do Combro, 60
Operating Hours: 1PM to 2AM
Expert’s choice: Try the mojitos (classic and the strawberry version). You won’t regret it
6. Fontecruz Hotel
One of the our second homes around the city. The staff is amazing and the drinks are made by a very competent bar team.
You can also decide to enjoy the fine food they serve for dinner, from some tapas to full and incredible meals.
Since you’re there, why not think about staying for the night? It’s our favorite hotel in town
Address: Avenida da Liberdade, 138
Operating Hours: 9AM to 11PM
Expert’s choice: Ask for some good moscatel or try a glass of wine. Their staff will take care of you.
7. Topo Chiado
Who’s in for some whisky on the views?
Based in heart of Lisbon, Topo Chiado feels like a rooftop bar despite being at the floor level. The 7 hills of Lisbon pulling their favorite prank, once again.
A great place to have some drinks and eat dinner, enjoying the possibility of seeing Lisbon from head to toes, and with the São Jorge castle winking from across the city.
Address: Terraços do Carmo
Operating Hours: 11AM — 2AM
Expert’s choice: Sunset with white wine and mojitos through the night. You just cannot go wrong.
Translated it’s our Indie House — and its basically a house that was converted to a bar, where you can grab some drinks, dance in some of the rooms that serve as dancing rooms, or just relax and talk in the big “patio” outside.
Address: Largo do Intendente Pina Manique 45
Operating hours: 5PM to 12AM
Expert’s choice: Why not share a bottle of wine with your friends?
9. Bistro 100 Maneiras
Ljubomir Stanisic is becoming more and more famous due to his temperament in a tv program called “Pesadelo na cozinha” (think of it as version of Kitchen Nightmares) but before that, he is an old school chef and entrepeneur, with a lot of stories to tell.
100 Maneiras is one of the best restaurants in town. The best, a lot of people say (and the Monocle Magazine agreed, as you can see here).
But we’re not here to talk about food.
Their cocktail diversity and their wine collection make 100 Maneiras a great place to go directly to the drinking and networking vibe.
The restaurant’s design is amazing too, and their staff is, undoubtedly, one the best in the city.
Address: Largo da Trindade 9
Operating hours: 12PM — 2AM
Expert’s choice: Try the Damn! That’s Good. It’s our favorite.
We hope you have a blast while in Lisbon and to receive your reviews of the suggested spots.
